HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

October 31, 2012

We're not typically big halloween people over here but we can still appreciate the fun and excitement that goes into it for most.  I was always forced to LOVE halloween during my college days with two roommates who lived for the holiday, usually forcing me to dress as something extravagant.  I will say those were some of my best costumes (eh hem, the sanderson sisters from hocus pocus- it was unreal!)  Tonight we'll head over to trick or treat with our niece and nephew and eat some chili.  I have a feeling this day will be much more fun next year when we have a tiny one to dress up :) Be safe and enjoy your night!

  3. Games are very popular and provide entertainment for all kinds of people. Most homes have at least a single gaming platform. Obviously that shouldn't mean that you already are aware of everything there is to know about video gaming. Use this article to provide you with some great suggestions to enhance all that your video gaming have to offer.

Look on the Internet for hints and suggestions when you are starting to play a game. When you can't get past a particular level, it can be greatly irritating, and result in a lack of desire to play it further. This will help you to get to the next level and enjoy the rest of the game.

It is important to understand the game rating system. Understanding this system allows you to better control what your child is exposed to. Before investing money into any game for a young person, check the ratings for appropriate age groups.

If you're looking for online games that are on sale, look at their Metacritic score prior to buying one. Many discounted games are cheap because they are not any fun to play. So, if you buy an unplayable game, you won't save money. Reviewing the scores, especially from a review aggregator like Metacritic, can save you from wasting your cash.

If you are viewing a how-to video online, make sure you thoroughly understand what you are doing. Avoid any deviation in technique, as the slightest difference can add up to disaster. A full screen view will help you to understand all of the details involved in the game.

Research and understand the rating system used for video games. Some games are not meant for children, so consider this fact when shopping for games. Each game will have a specific rating ranging from Early Childhood (EC) to Adults Only (AO). Be sure to choose an appropriately-rated game, especially if it is a gift designed for someone else.

Decide how old younger members of your household should be before being allowed to play games that are rated M for mature. A lot of different computer games systems can be set so kids cannot play games meant for adults. Keep an eye on what you're kid is doing.

You can sell your old computer games with the use of online ads. EBay is a tool that you can use to get your games on the market, but don't use it first. Sometimes there can be issues with shipping when selling from eBay, but if you know what you are doing, it is a great way to sell your games. Try Craigslist, or use the marketplace app on Facebook.

There are many consoles out on the market, so it may be tough to find the best one for you. First, you should determine what your needs are. Once you do so, search extra features that the console offers. Do your research by using the Internet. Reviews of the different systems can be easily found. Be informed before you buy your gaming system.

If possible, try games out before you buy them at your local library. Most public libraries offer video games that can be checked out for free. The library usually has game titles for all different systems, so simply call ahead and see if they have the title you want.

Figure out how to operate the safety and parental controls of any gaming system that comes into your home. You can likely make adjustments that keep kids from viewing mature content. Some allow each gaming profile to be customized separately, allowing adults to enjoy games not meant for younger audiences.

Not every video game out there is worth playing. The main thing you need to understand in order to enjoy your gaming experience is which games are shovelware or otherwise bad games. Apply the tips from this helpful article and you will be on your way to enjoying your gaming experience to the fullest.
