Hello lovely Little One Love readers!  I’m Lindsay’s friend and blogging buddy Meredith from His & Hers, a personal style and fashion inspiration blog for both ladies and gents. As you may have noticed, Lindsay’s been incorporating more adult fashion into Little One Love lately {including her own effortlessly chic style, which I love}.  Being a fellow fashion fan, I’ve enjoyed following Lindsay’s take on the trends and was excited when she asked me to share our fashion inspiration and favorite pieces for fall with her followers.

Fall Fashion FUN {I wanna move move move now!}

Okay. So the Fall/Winter collection from Appaman is rockin' this season.  It's the perfect mini skater, hipster, layer it up or wear alone gear.  My favorites include their classic monkey hockey tee paired with their black skinny cords. Their mini suits are also amazing!  And this video. Kill me dead from the cuteness.

Monday, I'm going to be given the opportunity to work with the fabulous Arielle from A Beautiful Journey blog on a photo shoot with 3 little ones and am finding major inspiration from these images.  Fall colors, plaids, layers, and various textures is what i'm going for.  Can't wait to see what we come up with! 

Happy Birthday, big boy!

I am feeling like the worst momma ever. Second to my hubz, this big boy is the love of my life and WE FORGOT HIS 2ND BIRTHDAY! And we missed his 1st birthday because Nick and I were in Europe. Dangit- bad parents! As soon as we realized, we gave him a big hunk of peanut butter and all was right in his dog life.  Look out 3rd birthday- we're coming at you sweet 16 style!

Self Portrait

I was invited to submit a self portrait  by an amazing local photography group called Lemonade and Lenses. I thought and thought about how I would like to be portrayed- what inspires me and how can I capture that in my portrait.  I decided I wanted a photo that captured me in my most comfortable, relaxed place- our bedroom.  This is not the photo I submitted, (i was actually not super happy with any so I didn't submit- so lame, I know- sorry friends at LaL :) but the point is that this outtake ended up being a photo I really like.  It's fun, comfortable and happy.  Although it is not photography blog worthy, Im happy to post it here.  You're never too old for jumpin' on the bed, right?

An early morning walk {in our pajamas}

With the new house came a new walk route and this one may be the best one yet.  We've got one of the cities most gorgeous parks literally across the street from our house with tons of places to run and play as well as amazing views of the river and city. We headed out with the sunrise one day last week and Nick snuck a few shots in. 

Family time

How cute are my big brother and mom? (you guys, look at her romper! I might steal it :)  My brother is moving to DC so we spent some quality time at our last sunday dinner together for a while.  I'll miss him but i'm so excited for his new opportunity.  If you live in DC, holla at a boi!

These cuties made my job easy.  This is the last shoot I styled for The Spotted Goose Company and boy was it a fun one.  We were showcasing new spring lines- some of my favorite pieces came from Wes and Willy, Little Joules , Fore Axel and Hudson and Appaman.  I'm working on putting together an online look book of sorts for potential clients, but for now I wanted to give you a little taste of my last shoot.  Please feel free to contact me if you're in need of a stylist for your next shoot!

I can feel myself coming out of this weird funk i've been in the last week or so and I couldn't be happier about it.  I felt inspired, motivated, driven and pretty today. So should you. This song is truth and should be every woman's anthem. Love.

Texture and Color {Yellow}

Yellow is making an extremely vibrant presence in our house. Between our vintage chair, the kitchen cabinets we just painted and other random decor pieces around, it's clear yellow is our current color. Texture and Color is a new little feature you'll see around here. I love that the combination of the two has the ability to make such a bold statement and I think it's fun to see how we all live in the midst of the two.  

Style: {5 looks i'm loving}

The hair, striped high waisted skirt, heels and just the right amount of belly. So cute!

Fedora. I'm a sucker for hats and thankfully my collection is vast. LOVE how casual cute this look is.

Head wrap and jean jacket- rockin.

Timeless beauty. Simple black dress that shows just the right amount of skin with gorgeous side swept hair. FLAWLESS.

I've always thought about what I put on in the morning and take pride in my casual, yet pulled together (for the most part), styled outfits, but lately i'm finding an insane amount of inspiration in Style and Fashion.  I'm giddy over color, texture and accessories.  These ladies have rockin bodies too which is not the most important thing, but it sure helps feeling sexy in your clothes when you feel good about yourself. I love that feeling!

Tuesday

This is what happens when things are slow and you're feeling good and comfy.  I love being able to throw on something that screams sunday yet is appropriate enough for any day of the week. Looking forward to picking up our new (to us) vintage arm chair and having some friends over for dinner.  Happy Tuesday, friends.

Wants Vs. Contentment

It's a funny thing- wants vs contentment.  I've got everything anyone could ever need and I continue to be thankful and blessed in my life.  Sometimes my wants are tangible things, sometimes they're more personal, either way the problem is that I want.  I go through waves of feeling completely fulfilled and then something inside me rebels and I want more. Recently I talked about my struggle to find contentment HERE and for whatever reason, I find myself back in that same mentality.

To be able to take a spur of the moment trip to Europe, to trade in our 10 year old car for a new luxury one, to own a pair of Christian Louboutin heels, to have a beautiful walk in closet that changes with each season-  it all sounds so silly but constantly seeing these types of extravagant things in our media and around me for the past 5 years has a way of getting inside my mind.

 I know how shallow this all sounds. I take full responsibility for the way that this is all sounding but don't you ever wish it too?  Like I said, I'm so thankful for what my life is- truly. But being held back from doing certain things only because of money is a frustrating thing.  Taking a vacation to Europe for us is months of preparing and saving so we can continue to have a little bit of security in our bank account.  I look at some  celebrities our media is constantly praising and cringe at how easy it is for them to, for lack of a better phrase, do whatever they want.  Not saying some of them aren't talented and it isn't well deserved but for most of us hardworking, driven, ambitious people, it just seems unfair.  I sound like a baby, I know but it's how I'm feeling at this particular moment. If only I could win the lottery or better yet be completely broke and happy and never feel like there is a void somewhere. Yes, that would be perfect. 

Today is good {The perfect Friday}

-A giant coffee has eased me out of the extremely tired morning I've had

-It's friday and I'm so looking forward to a relaxed weekend at home, getting started on some home projects.

-Tonight, we have plans to attend a "mock run" of new restaurant opening up in the city

-The sun is shining and the breeze is perfection

-When we woke this morning the house was filled with cool morning air from the open windows

-I'm wearing jeans and a long sleeve tee- Fall, anyone!?

-Janet Jackson songs are on replay in my head :)

Baby steps

Over the weekend I witnessed something special for the first time.  My little hubba bubba nephew showed me how he walks.  The second his little feet hit ground, his face lit up and as much self confidence as a one year old can have radiated. I'm a proud auntie....

Around the house
