we like to dance

The Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati is awesome for lots of reasons. For one thing, every time a new show comes to town they host a free, friday night dance and cocktail party. Our friend Jimmy Baker just happens to be showing his work at the CAC now, and to kick off his exhibit we got down :) (if you live in cinci and have never been to one, your majorly missing out) 2. The building itself is an architectural gem. and 3. Contemporary art- need I say more? (If you stick with this video into the fourth minute you might catch me.  And doesn't this song just make you wanna dance?)

Happy Birthday, Mom!

My mom looks beautiful here. It's by far my most favorite picture of her- 19 and pregnant with my big brother.  There's something about her carefreeness, wide grin and oversized sweater that has me captured every time I see this photo.  

I'm so proud to have her as my mom and friend.  We've gone through so much together and I can't imagine doing it all with anyone else.  I love you, Mom.  Happy 50th Birthday.

Family hike.

There are very few things I enjoy more, than spending an afternoon with Nick and Clyde in the woods.  As much as our hearts yearn for the city, they are equally as full when we're together on a hike with nothing but the sun and each other for company.  We found this great park not too long ago and plan on going back for more outdoor family adventures. 

Spotlight feature: LOUD apparel

I was recently contacted by LOUD apparel and instantly fell in love upon seeing their line sheet.  I LOVE the modern, COMFORTABLE, sophistication this line is about.  The super rad images speak for themselves- your kid is cool if they're dressed in LOUD. My favorite personal touch is the thick rimmed glasses. #swoon

Architecture for the Little One's

.....And I quote "I'll be personally offended if you don't blog about these." says my architect hubby :) Thanks to Design Milk we came across these super awesome playhouses. A dream for any design savvy parents and kids alike.  I've got a hunch that our future child has an awesome playhouse in his future.  

I just love him.

This kid totally rocks. His Victorian jacket, oversized tee, sweats and high tops plus the skateboard are flawless. This kid's got mad style, yo!

I got home last night from a 4 day trip to my old stomping grounds of New York City.  I went with my boss on a buying trip for the boutique and we always end up leaving apparel shows feeling so inspired.  I recently started a children's fashion journal for inspiration, creativity and as a fun way to stay current in our line of work.  Above are a few photos from the latest vogue bambini that I find to be beautiful, hip, and perfection in every way.  Hoping everyone had a great week!
