I can't even begin to express how amazing, eye opening and life altering this experience has been for me. The children of El Salvador have changed me, touched me, affected me, and will forever be a part of my heart.
The poverty in the country is nothing like what we see in the U.S, yet these kids smile, play and laugh all day long. The group I traveled with, worked in a small village called San Luis Talpa where we mixed concrete, poured concrete, dug holes, cut grass, filled holes, etc for a community of houses funded by the fuller center for housing. The families that qualify for these simple, concrete homes are amongst the poorest, usually coming from homes made of tin with dirt floors. No running water, no bathroom.
All of the kids in this community have touched me. They remained by our sides the entire week which made saying goodbye extremely difficult. The boy pictured last is Oscar. He is 13 years old and he currently lives in a house made of tin with a dirt floor. Oscar doesn't speak any english, I don't speak any spanish (must learn), yet somehow Oscar and I connected and formed a really special bond. Oscar and his family worked with us all week as a payment for one of the houses. He wants to go to college and become an accountant. On our last day at the work site Oscar approached me, took my hand in his and tied a bracelet around my wrist that he made. He told me he wished it was more beautiful but he only had one color to work with. (it IS extremely beautiful. A greenish turquoise color that will remain on my wrist for as along as it will last) I can't think of Oscar without tearing up. The fact that he made me a bracelet (on a dirt floor) moves me more than I'll ever be able to express.
Always in my heart......
Angel, Santos, Manuel, Pablo, Flor, Armondo, Eric, Michael, Fernando, Salvador and Oscar.

Definition of Daddy's girl :) My Dad and I have certainly shared some special moments and have a bond that truly is unlike most father daughter relationships I know of. I'm blessed, I know. Yet again, I'm unable to be with family when occasion calls for it. Today my dad is in Cincinnati and I'm in El Salvador (yeah, i'm pretty damn far-stay tuned for el salvador posts!) There's not one person who doesn't absolutely adore this man. Thanks for always being the best Daddy a girl could have. I Love you, Dad.
And lets not forget my amazing hubby. No, we don't yet have any human children, but this rascal of a son is enough for now :) going on 10 months, we have our hands full and my husband is nothing short of amazing with him and the responsibility that goes with taking care of someone other than yourself.
I absolutely can't wait to watch him be a Daddy one day (to a human :)
Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful Dads out there!

First of all, thank you so much for a wonderful year! It has been such an honor being a part of your life this past year. I hope you have learned something from me because I know I have certainly learned something from you- Your care free, bright, happy spirit and outlook on life touched my heart everyday and I thank you for making me so happy to go to work day after day. You and your friends are certainly one special bunch of kids. I am 100% sure that you will grow to be a happy, loved, loving, successful person and I encourage you to never let go of your dreams. You told me that when you grow up you want to be a scientist, princess, policeman, astronaut, teacher, singer, archeologist - GO FOR IT! The future is bright and you are extremely special and unique.
I love you for always reminding me that life is what we make it and you have shown me how to make the most of it. Have a wonderful summer.
Ms. Dewald :)

It's the end of the school year (1 week left! yes!) so my mind has been wandering a bit from montessori, lesson plans, circle time activities, yada yada yada. I've had my mind on Children's fashion for quiet some time now (just launched the B Nature Organic blog a few weeks ago! If you don't know about B nature get with it! Adorable, organic, trendy baby clothes and accessories. love!) Anyways, between my work with them and my love for children's fashion in general, I'm all over the newest children's trends. Hence, ABC Button! Stinkin' cute.

This past weekend hubby and I (and clyde of course) made a trip back home to Cincinnati and aside from every single minute being booked, it's always so nice to see friends and family. We boated down the ohio river, visited our precious nephew, and snapped a million shots of clyde plus lots and lots and lots (and lots) more. Like I said, busy.
Im seriously concerned when I have a "real" baby of my own. I mean paparazzi and mommy blogger to the max. I'm scared :)
We also had a family style photo shoot with our good friends from Loft3. Can't wait to see what we captured!
ps. I hate how traveling keeps me out of the blogosphere. I'm glad I could catch up now. It's good to be back.
